1850 People To Join Catholic Church in
Atlanta Archdiocese on Sunday

Atlanta – Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will preside at the Rite of Election and The Call to Continuing Conversion on Sunday, March 13, at the Atlanta Civic Center at 2:00 PM. Bishop Luis R. Zarama will assist as the Rite will be conducted in a variety of languages, expressing the great cultural diversity of the Catholic Church in North and Central Georgia.

"This joyful ceremony will welcome the more than 1,850 individuals who are preparing to join the Catholic Church this Easter. They will be accompanied by many of the individuals who are supporting them on their journey into the Catholic faith. As the new Catholics come from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, the rite will be conducted in a variety of languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, French, Korean, Igbo, and Chinese," said Reverend Theodore Book, Director of the Office of Divine Worship. "This solemn and joyful ceremony will represent the Catholicity of the Church - one Church embracing people from every land, people and nation."

Georgia United Credit Union is helping to underwrite this event for the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
