Dr. Bernice King has asked all churches worldwide to toll their church bells 39 times at 7:01 p.m. EST the evening of April 4. This was the time Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. He was 39 years old.
The following parishes will toll their bells:
- The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Atlanta
- Catholic Church of St. Ann, Marietta
- Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Atlanta
- Holy Trinity, Peachtree City
- Prince of Peace, Flowery Branch
- St. Andrew Catholic Church, Roswell
- The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Atlanta
- St. Paul of the Cross, Atlanta
- Sts. Peter and Paul, Decatur
- St. Peter the Rock, Thomaston
