
The catechist through a retreat like experience enjoys the moments of the presentations, meditates on the essential message, and discusses the doctrine of presentations. Through the group writing of the Album pages the catechists has presentations to take back to their church which prepares them to work with the children.
CGS uses the Montessori method to present scripture and the sacraments to children. Through wondering questions and hands on material the children dive deep into the meanings of the scriptures and prayers.
This method of faith formation was developed in 1954 by Sofia Cavalletti a scripture scholar and Gianna Gobi a Montissorian.
This ecumenical formation provides national certification for Roman Catholic and other traditions interested in this method of faith formation for children.
Sessions are held on Fridays 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 6 pm on the dates listed below:
2016: September 16-17, October 14-15, November 11-12, December 9-10
2017: January 6-7, February 10-11, March 17-18 (new date), April 21-22 (new date)
This one weekend a month format allows the catechist the experience of working with children while receiving formation.
