It has become the hallowed tradition of our Atlanta presbyterate to gather at the Cathedral every year on the Tuesday of Holy Week for our Lenten day of reflection, the celebration of the Chrism Mass and a banquet celebrating our priest jubilarians.  This is always a great day as we come in from all corners of the Archdiocese and reconnect with one another.  The day away from routine is a welcome break and a valuable opportunity for us to pray and celebrate together as we renew our commitment to the priesthood and to one another.

I am very pleased and grateful that this year’s presenter for our reflection is Fr. Peter Fink, S.J. As many of you know, Fr. Fink is a retreat director and spiritual advisor at Ignatius House.  He was ordained to the priesthood in 1969 and has presided in both the Latin and Maronite churches. He holds an M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an S.T.M. from Woodstock College and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Emory University.  He has published and edited many publications on worship and sacramental theology.  I am sure you will be inspired and renewed by his reflection.

We will begin our time together promptly at 1 p.m. There will NOT be a lunch provided at the Cathedral so you will want to plan accordingly.

At the end of our afternoon of reflection there will be an opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Instructions for this time will be given after the second talk. Following the reflection will be the Chrism Mass and banquet to honor our priest jubilarians.
