Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility
This year, in the midst of pandemic, we have all come to a new awareness and appreciation of our call to solidarity and the responsibility to care for the most vulnerable among us. We have seen in our own communities, and even our own families, how deeply the state of public health can impact lives and livelihoods. We have also seen how a health crisis can have a disproportionate effect on those who already suffer from social and economic inequality.
As with COVID-19, the success in the fight against HIV/AIDS is reliant upon a robust respect for public health and a commitment to fight inequalities in our homes and communities.
It is with this commitment to end inequality and to promote the importance of public health that we will celebrate the 2020 World AIDS Day Mass on Tuesday, December 1, at 12:00 p.m. Archbishop Gregory Hartmayer, OFM Conv. will serve as the principal celebrant.
