Knowing our Faith: Education within parishes
Eliminating injustices, ignorance and apathy/replace with sensitivity and warm acceptance
There are several special religious education program models available depending upon the needs of your parish.
St. John Neumann Catholic Church received the Loyola Press 2014 Open Doors award for welcoming all into the life of their parish. The Special Needs Ministry at SJN is a wonderful example of best practices and pastoral care for all.
Sophia Academy, a Marist Catholic college prep school, provides personalized education tailored to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate learning differences and strives to instill in each student a quest for excellence.
Special needs curriculums are available through approved catholic publishers for purchase to be used in parishes. Training is available through the Disabilities Ministry for religious education directors and catechists upon request.
The Archdiocese of Atlanta welcomes all to our parishes and events.
The Disabilities Ministry will assist with arrangements of accommodations for special needs, provided requests are submitted in advance.
