Religious Orders in the Archdiocese
Religious orders and congregations are a vital part of the life and mission of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Through prayer, community life and service, women and men religious witness the Gospel in diverse and powerful ways.
Each religious community brings its own spiritual tradition, history and mission to the archdiocese. Some are contemplative, dedicating their lives primarily to prayer, while others serve actively in education, healthcare and social justice. Together, they embody the richness and diversity of consecrated life in the church.
Discernment and Vocations
Religious life is a vocation – a call from God to live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience within a community.
The Archdiocese of Atlanta joyfully supports those discerning religious life and encourages anyone who feels called to explore this path through prayer, conversation and accompaniment.
