Prosit—Altar Server Celebration

Vocations Awareness Week is November 1– 7 and we hope parishes and community members will join us in praying for men and women in our archdiocese who are discerning the Lord’s call for their life. The week culminates on Saturday, November 7, with our Prosit Altar Server Celebration at Immaculate Heart of Mary .
The title PROSIT comes from the traditional Latin prayer recited by the clergy and altar servers as they process out at the conclusion of Mass. The priest says, “Prosit,” meaning, “May it profit us.” The servers respond, “Pro omnibus et singulis,” which translates, “For all and for each one.” This prayer asks God that the graces received through the celebration of the Mass may contribute to the salvation of souls.
Every parish is encouraged to send two to five middle or high school altar servers to represent their parish for a Mass of thanksgiving, inspirational talks and a friendly basketball game against priests and seminarians.

Attendees must register with their parish. Two accompany adults per parish should attend with altar servers and must be Safe Environment certified.
