On November 11, 2011, Archbishop-Emeritus John F. Donoghue passed away at the age of 83. He was named as the fifth Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1993 and faithfully served North and Central Georgia until his retirement on December 9, 2004.
Archbishop Donoghue made the center of his pastoral work among Catholics to renew understanding of and devotion to the Eucharist as the real presence of Christ.
