Family Faith Formation Coordinator

Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Brookhaven seeks a full-time family faith formation coordinator to equip parents as the primary educators of the faith while guiding children toward full sacramental life. This position oversees family faith formation for children in Pre-K through 5th grade; prepares children and families for first reconciliation, first Eucharist and confirmation; supports the transition from a traditional 10th grade confirmation model to a 6th grade approach and will coordinate OCIA for children (age 7+). Additional responsibilities include planning and executing Vacation Bible School, recruiting and supporting catechists and volunteers and managing program enrollment, communications and budget. Qualified candidates are a practicing Catholic with a master catechist certification or an equivalent background in theology or faith formation; have prior parish ministry experience; strong organizational, leadership and communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office. Family faith formation experience, familiarity with ParishSOFT and bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
