The Joy-Filled Marriage program is offered in two parts which must be taken on two separate Saturdays: Life-Skills for Couples, and Marriage as Sacrament. Both programs are simultaneously offered at the Chancery on the Saturdays listed below. Both need to be attended in order to receive the marriage certificate, which will be given after attendance of the second part, Marriage as Sacrament.

Part I: Life-Skills for Couples

An introductory virtue-based life-skills workshop that incorporates sound psychology and theology to help one understand and set patterns of thinking and acting to build a life-long and joy-filled marriage. Topics include:

  • Intro: Life-skills based on virtue
  • Discovering and uniting your goals
  • Communication
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Resource Management
  • Intimacy: Prayer and Sexuality

Part I: for Remarriage – Love Again

A workshop offered three times per year for the widowed and couples with previous marriages that the Church has declared null.   They will also attend the Part II – “Marriage as Sacrament” workshop to complete marriage preparation and receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the second Saturday workshop.

These couples face some challenges that are different from couples marrying for their first time.  Topics include:

  • Starting out new by dealing with the past
  • Strategies for conflict resolution
  • Step-kids, step-parenting, and step-families
  • Blending faith, traditions, and daily life

These couples may also opt to take Life Skills in addition to Love Again and Marriage as Sacrament, free of charge.  Please contact Daniel for more details on how to take all three workshops for the price of two.

Part II: Marriage as Sacrament

A workshop specifically designed to prepare one for the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic Church.  The day is a reflection on God’s design for marriage, one’s own desire for love, and practical applications on how to conform our own desires to God’s love through the vocation of marriage.

What should we bring?

Just yourselves and a light sweater or jacket if you have a tendency to get cold.

What if we are unable to attend the program together?

The program is designed for couples to work together throughout the day.  For couples who find themselves separated by distance, there are other options for your pastor to consider such as: www.catholicmarriageprep.com

How much does it cost? How do we register?

“Life-Skills for Couples” and “Marriage as Sacrament” are $80 each per couple. “Love Again” is $115 per couple.  Registration is done online, clicking on the button below.  The number of registration spots are limited each month, so please register early.
