Restorative Justice Ministry staffs the bishops of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and supports archdiocesan clergy, parishes, schools and other communities with engagement opportunities and resources to promote restorative justice and the use of restorative practices.
Through education and advocacy, we work to foster healing, reconciliation and community resilience, as well as address the systemic issues of criminal legal reform, death penalty abolition and racial justice. Restorative Justice Ministry also supports prison and jail ministry in the archdiocese through training, resourcing and logistical assistance.
The work of Restorative Justice Ministry is rooted in Gospel values and the Catholic Church’s social doctrine, which call us to live in right relationship with God, with each other and with all of creation.

Demand humane temperatures for incarcerated people
Only a quarter of Georgia’s state prisons are fully air-conditioned. Throughout the state, we can expect temperatures in excess of 100 degrees over the summer. Extreme temperatures are cruel and inhumane to both staff and residents of the state’s prisons. Prison facilities need proper air ventilation and air-conditioning! Tell your elected officials to ensure the safety of people in prisons by creating and supporting legislation to address extreme heat in prisons.
