Sacramental Preparation

The Archdiocesan Guidelines for the Sacraments of Initiation and the Sacrament of Penance are designed primarily for the benefit of the parish and school catechetical leaders who administer sacrament preparation. The Sacramental Guidelines state that “Pastors in collaboration with catechetical leaders are responsible for determination of Sacramental formation and reception readiness.” Contents of the Sacramental Guidelines include:

• Information about sacramental reception location, sacramental recording and Godparent/sponsor qualifications.
• Sacrament preparation  for various age levels and initiation sequences.
• Archdiocesan guidelines for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) and the Sacrament of Penance.
